For Stages 1–4 (Years 1–10), this activity supports Science outcomes by enabling students to observe the Sun, Moon, planets, and other celestial objects, and understand Earth’s place in the Solar System (ST1‑10ES‑S, ST2‑10ES‑S, ST3‑10ES‑S, SC4‑12ES). Students develop inquiry and scientific investigation skills through hands‑on exploration of telescopes, models, and meteorites (ST1‑1WS‑S, ST2‑1WS‑S, ST3‑1WS‑S). The program also strengthens understanding of light, energy, and observable changes in the sky (ST3‑6PW‑S, SC4‑9PW). Links to History arise through learning about early navigation, timekeeping, and the Observatory’s role in Australia’s scientific development (HT2‑2, HT3‑2). Together, these outcomes build scientific literacy, curiosity, and conceptual understanding of Earth and space.
