RELICS: A New World Rises is an immersive exhibition created by LEGO® Masters winners Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler. Students explore intricate LEGO® civilisations built inside retro objects—typewriters, fridges, cars—each telling a story about sustainability, engineering, and imaginative world‑building. The exhibition encourages observation, creative thinking, and discussion about how design, technology, and storytelling shape the future.

This activity supports outcomes across multiple stages. For Stage 1 (Years 1–2), students observe built environments and materials, aligning with Science & Technology outcomes ST1‑4WS and ST1‑10DES, as they explore how objects are designed for purpose. In Stage 2 (Years 3–4), learners engage in design processes and evaluate sustainable solutions, meeting ST2‑2DP, ST2‑1WS, and GE2‑1 through discussions of environmental themes in the exhibition. For Stage 3 (Years 5–6), students analyse systems, sustainability, and innovation, addressing ST3‑2DP, ST3‑4WS, and ST3‑5LW, while also connecting to Creative Arts outcomes VAS3.1 and VAS3.2 as they interpret artistic choices. In Stage 4 (Years 7–8), the exhibition supports Technology Mandatory outcomes TE4‑1DP, TE4‑2DP, and TE4‑3DP, encouraging students to evaluate design processes, sustainability, and technological futures through the miniature LEGO® worlds.
